A round up of all the best Book PR from The Book Publicist this week

Well, what a week it’s been! Our authors have been media butterflies this week – popping up in over 80 media outlets across national radio, newspapers, leading business and lifestyle magazines, as well as national and international websites. It’s been a big week in the office, full of excitement (not least because one of our lovely authors sent us a delightful case of wine!), with book publicity highlights including: Amid the amazing buzz of the Royal Wedding last week, royal historian and Oxford University Press author Ted Powell appeared in the Guardian to comment upon multiculturality and the importance of Meghan’s new role in the royal family. He was also live in Windsor celebrating the wedding on BBC Radio 2’s Very Special Royal Wedding Breakfast Show with Chris Evans – keeping listeners entertained with lovely anecdotes about royal wedding traditions. Another hot topic this week… Ardi Kolah (author of new book The GDPR Handbook) was involved in BBC 5 Live’s “Wake Up to Money”, giving super useful advice on GDPR to people and businesses affected by it.  Following mental health awareness week, former footballer Kevin George appeared on Sports Hour and World Football (BBC World Service) to promote his new book Soccology, shedding light on the need for mental health to be addressed in football. He did a brilliant job and, excitingly, was also featured in Yahoo Sport, City AM, the Mirror and the Sun, discussing his book and the pressures on professional sportsmen and the impact of injuries and anxiety on the game.  A huge congratulations to author and Dr of Happiness Andy Cope, whose upcoming Festival of Happiness in Manchester was featured in Top Sante – calling their readers to go along and celebrate everything that is happy and discover new ways to inject everyday life with a bit of extra happiness. Michelle Carvill (author of GET SOCIAL) shone in Director Magazine with a glowing book review. Whilst Dr. Janina Scarlet (author of Therapy Quest) took part in Psychologies Magazine’s Facebook Live event to talk about the psychology of gaming – enlightening the magazine’s Facebook audience (1.3million) with her expertise on psychological functions. Appearing in Management Today, business book author, Natalie Turner expertly discussed curiosity and innovation in business and the ways to establish a curious mindset in an insightful full-page feature and great PR for her book Yes You Can Innovate. Defying societal expectations, self-help author, Helena Grace Donald (Learning to Love the Girl in the Mirror) bravely spoke out about her struggle to love herself, the ways in which she discarded negative thoughts and her desire to help others do the same in a 3-page article in Happiful Magazine this week with a wonderful PR plug for her new book. Lovely!  Phew, what a week! We can’t wait to see what next week has in store…
